Vision of Men's Life
The vision for the men's ministry is to form a place where men can learn to be godly men and use the positions and skills God has given them for the betterment of the church and the community around them. The world is often openly hostile those characteristics that make men effective. We will embrace these characteristics and utilize them in Gods service We will connect with one another learning how to be godly man and helping raise up younger men in our congregation. We will grow together through the application of the word of God. We will look for ways to apply our theology which is learned in church and life groups with the sweat of our brows and the strength of our backs. We will live together in our trials and in our struggles of every day life and in doing so we both support and accountability. This group is designed to be about the practical service of those Matthew 25 needs of food, water, shelter, clothing, comfort, and in doing so share the love of our Lord and Savior Christ.
My name is Jay Miller and I am the leader of the Men's Group. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my two kids and my wife of 12 years, Angel. When not with my family I love all things Geek and I am currently training for a marathon.
I became a Christian in 2002 after realizing that all the world offered was shallow and fleeting at best. I felt the call to ministry almost immediately, but it took a while to listen. I graduated from Liberty Baptist seminary in 2012 with a Masters in Theological Studies and was ordained in 2013. I have been a volunteer pastor at Wilmot State Prison for the last 6 years. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions firstname.lastname@example.org.
